Why Test Your Car Air Conditioning? More than 90% of new cars sold this year had air conditioning systems fitted as standard. If you are the owner of such a vehicle you will appreciate the value of air conditioning. Your air-conditioning system can be blended with your heater to provide you with clean, purified and dehumidified air. It should be used all year round, do not leave it turned off for long periods of time as the system will suffer from a lack of lubrication. If you do not use your air-conditioning for whatever reason turn it on at least once each week for half an hour. Whilst the modern automotive car air conditioning system is both efficient and reliable, it is a mechanical system, which requires periodical servicing and maintenance in order to maintain its performance. Vehicle manufacturers now recommend an annual service to maintain the efficiency of the system and ensure the reliable running of the vehicle. Most car owners, and indeed, many service centres, do not appreciate that if a car airconditioning system is not correctly maintained on a regular basis, there is a risk of system damage or even a complete vehicle breakdown. Air conditioning systems contain potentially harmful CFC or HFC gases under very high pressures. Exposure to the refrigerant can cause cold burns and blindness. The only safe way to maintain your system is through an annual service by an a vehicle air conditioning technician using specialised equipment. Mobile Auto Aircon operatives are fully equipped with the very latest state of the art vehicle air conditioning system servicing equipment and ourĀ Engineers have undergone extensive specialised training.
